When using nutritional supplements, you may have noticed that products are usually date stamped either on the label or on the bottom of the bottle. Common date stamps are preceded by either “DOM,” “MFG,” or “EXP.” DOM stands for Date of Manufacture and MFG is an abbreviation of Manufactured. Both DOM and MFG designate the creation date for a product. EXP is an abbreviation of Expiration.

Expiration dates on food items and nutritional supplements are not required by the FDA. If a distributor chooses to use an expiration date on nutritional supplements, the FDA guidelines limit that date to be no more than two years from the date of manufacture regardless of stability testing that shows products are potent and viable for 3-5 years past manufacture date. This means that viable product may be dismissed as inconsumable because of an arbitrary “expiration” date, which leads to unnecessary waste.

When properly stored unopened in a cool, dry, dark location, MPN supplements can remain effective for 3-5 years after the date of manufacture. For this reason, we have shifted away from stamping our products with expiration dates as we believe they can be misleading. Additionally, unopened MPN products do not suddenly lose their potency on the stamped expiry date. We believe it should be up to the consumer to determine their own comfort level when taking products that have had time to age.

At MPN, we would like to encourage less waste and to remind our customers that all of the ingredients in our products undergo rigorous stability and potency testing at the time of manufacture to ensure a reasonably long shelf life and reliably effective product.

We understand that many of our customers live in regions where the temperatures can rise to extreme levels. If you live in an area that experiences high heat, please take into consideration that Mountain Peak Nutritionals is not responsible for packages that incur damage due to prolonged exposure to high temperatures. Because our products are stable, some heat exposure in the course of normal transit times will not negatively affect products. However, after a package is delivered, if left exposed to high temperatures, more sensitive ingredients in nutritional supplements can begin to lose potency. When possible, please have your products shipped to a location that is safe from high heat (i.e. your work address or PO Box) and/or where a package, if left by the courier, will not be over-exposed to direct sunlight or subjected to excessive temperatures (i.e. outdoor mail boxes and parcel lockers). When packages are left, please retrieve them from the elements as soon as possible for the most potent product possible.

  • The facilities with which we partner to manufacture our products not only adhere to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), but are 21 CFR Part 111 compliant. All of our products undergo rigorous testing for potency and purity at multiple points in production. Individual ingredients are tested prior to blending in addition to final product testing which is conducted to insure each bottle contains a homogeneous blend and that the desired quantities of each constituent are present as listed on the product label. Our FDA compliant manufacturers use trusted labs in third-party testing.

Nutritional supplements are not intended to prevent, treat, or cure any kind of disease or medical condition. The purpose of nutritional supplements is to support the body and its natural ability to heal itself. These supplements are formulated to provide nutritional support.

We primarily ship via US Priority Mail to PO boxes and residential addresses, and via FedEx Ground to commercial addresses. However, MPN reserves the right to determine the best method of shipment on a case-by-case basis. Sorry, no international shipping.

We do not guarantee same day shipping. However, we can usually ship orders the same or the next business day from when the order is placed. Transit times vary by location. US Priority Mail is approximately 1-3 mailing days (includes Saturdays), FedEx Ground takes 1-5 business days (Saturdays not included). Day of courier pick-up is not included in transit time.

  • Orders totaling $300+ shipping to AK, HI, and PR will receive a $10 S&H discount
  • For wholesale orders under $300, we charge flat rate shipping & handling fees:
    • S&H to OR & WA = $9.00
    • S&H to all other contiguous States = $10.50
    • S&H to AK, HI, and PR = Varies; $15.00 per medium USPS Priority Mail box, $21.00 per large USPS Priority Mail box. Please contact us for more information.

We do not have flat rate charges for expedited shipping. Because we are a small business, overnight shipping is not inexpensive. If you need a package sent via FedEx Next Day Air, please be aware that even small packages will likely incur a minimum shipping & handling charge of $50.

Prior to shipping any package via an expedited service, we will weigh and use the dimensions of your parcel to provide you with a S&H quote. Because this requires extra steps on our part, you must contact us as early as possible during our office hours to allow time for processing. Generally, we do not guarantee same day shipping. However, we will do our best to ship your rush order the same day or we will let you know if it isn’t possible.

Sorry, we do not ship internationally.

  • If you placed an order that hasn’t arrived within the expected time frame, it may be due to an occasional delay on the courier’s part. Please use the tracking information provided to you to track your package. If you did not receive a tracking number, please email our shipping manager at kristin@mtnpeaknutrition.com or call us at 503-292-7272.
  • If your package was sent to you by USPS mail and the tracking information states that it was delivered but you have not located the package, please use the following link to submit a Missing Mail form. Once the USPS has responded to your submission and if they were still unable to help you locate the package, please reach out to our office staff for further assistance.
  • Please note that we must wait 2 full weeks before we can start a claim on a lost package. If it has been less than 2 weeks since date of shipment, we have to allow the courier time to redirect the package in the event of a misrouted parcel. In that time period we cannot offer any replacements or refunds. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Because we do not have a storefront, local orders to be picked up must be placed and paid for in advance. Arrangements must be confirmed by one of our representatives prior to arrival. Pick-up orders are available at our front office Monday – Friday, between 9:30am – 5pm. We ask for at least a 30 minute lead time before you arrive and payment must be made in advance by credit/debit card. Please contact us to place your pick-up order.

Please keep in mind that we use natural ingredients to create our products. As is the case with natural substances, variations in color or appearance are to be expected. Some formulas have speckles by nature, while others can form speckles over time when exposed to moisture in the air after the seal on the bottle has been opened. You can rest assured that all of our products undergo rigorous third party purity testing to ensure that the contents of the product match what you read on the label.
